Waldfrieden Sculpture Park

The Waldfrieden Sculpture Park is a very popular sculpture park in the middle of Wuppertal. The park was created by the English sculptor Tony Cragg, who partly exhibits his own sculptures. But many sculptures are also by other well-known artists. Run as a private museum, it is run by a non-profit foundation, the Cragg Foundation, which has been in existence since 2005.

Von der Heydt Museum

This well-known art museum is a MUST SEE in Wuppertal for art lovers. The museum bears the name of a very well-known banking family, the Von der Heydt, who were considered one of the most respected families in Wuppertal and were also patrons of the museum. Founded in 1902, the museum has a collection of paintings, sculptures, graphics and photographs from the 17th century to the present. The focus is on French painting of the 19th century. Due to the numerous war losses because of the Second World War, the collection has recently been greatly rejuvenated. For this reason, the museum's activity in the field of special exhibitions has also increased immensely since the beginning of the 1990s. As a result, the museum is now one of the most visited and best-known museums in the country. The association behind the museum now also runs the popular Heydt Kunsthalle directly in the Barmer Ruhmeshalle. We can only recommend the Kunsthalle as an extension of the museum!
